The new GRAND-SPORT Keystone piston ring is made of high quality steel, especially developed for this cylinder kit. Providing better break resistance and an extended lifetime. Ring thickness is 1,2mm.
The biconic piston pin from GRAND-SPORT reduces weight of the moving masses, but keeps the stability of the standard piston pin!
The Nicasil coated Aluminium Cylinder comes with 7 transfer ports. Having three boost ports and a one piece exhaust port with an integrated Aluminium exhaust stub.
The MHR cylinder has longer transfer timing and a wider exhaust port than the MALOSSI "Sport" cylinder. So this is the cylinder kit you might want to choose, if you want to use the kit in combination with a bigger carburator kit and different exhaust pipe.
Finally MALOSSI has developed a head for the cylinder kit, so there is no need for machining an old PIAGGIO cylinder Head any more! In addition this kit offers centering bushes for the head and also an O-ring gasket.
This cylinder kit is upgraded with a reinforced GRAND-SPORT 1,2mm Keystone steel piston ring, for better break resistance and extended lifetime, even at higher piston speed and wider exhaust port.
The lightweight biconic piston pin reduces piston weight, but keeps the same stability.

As some PIAGGIO engine casings have high tolerances at the cylinder studs, it might be possible that the MALOSSI cylinder won't fit the casing without problems.
PIAGGIO solved the problem by drilling bigger holes for the studs into the cylinder. As MALOSSI didn't do so, it might be necessary to make these holes a little wider for a proper fitting of the cylinder.
